COACH DEVELOPMENT

One of the primary challenges facing the revival of baseball in D.C. is the lack of quality coaching. Without a MLB team in the city for over three decades, a generation of potential players left the game to play other sports. The result is a vacuum in quality coaching that compounds the lack of quality fields, equipment, and the draw of other sports. One of the primary missions of BATTER-UP is to not only expose youth to the sport, but to provide interested and qualified adults access to expert coach training so that they can pass along their passion and knowledge to the kids.
